John was a Toronto Firefighter from 1988 to 2008 and served in various capacities with TFS. He served on a heavy rescue vehicle for fifteen years responding to high angle rescues, hazardous material spills, confined space search and rescues and auto extrication. Since becoming President of Rescue 7 in 2006, John has traveled extensively implementing emergency procedure programs to various organizations including South Gobi Sands LLC mining company in Mongolia. He was featured on the Dragon’s Den (Season 3 Episode 11) and facilitated the rise of Rescue 7 to the top 500 fastest growing companies in Canada for 2012, 2013 and 2014. Written publications include Profit 500 Magazine and other various trade magazines. Featured articles in both the Toronto Star and Globe & Mail. Selected as Markham’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013, John is a contributing author for various trade magazines and has travelled extensively to consult (Mongolia, China, Germany, and Caribbean) and speak at conferences. John sits on various Boards including the CSA’s Task Force for First Aid Regulations, Markham Sport Hall of Fame and the Canadian Security Lifesaving Awards. John and his wife Maureen have four grown children and reside in Markham, Ont.
Dr. Howard Seiden, MD, MSc, FCFP, FAADEP
Dr. Seiden began his medical career as an emergency and family physician. He is one of the most respected authorities in the field of medical evaluation, and disability management. Dr. Seiden is a Fellow of the International Academy of Independent Medical Evaluators, a Transport Canada Civil Aviation Medical Examiner, and an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. A former medical columnist for Canada’s most widely circulated newspaper, Dr. Seiden is also the medical adviser to some of the country’s largest corporations. Dr. Seiden provides Special Situations consulting to all manner of businesses, helping companies design and implement their business continuity and pandemic response plans from a medical/legal perspective. He has been associated with Rescue 7 since its inception.
Since 2006, Norm has been an active Rescue 7 Inc. Instructor-Trainer in Ontario and Quebec. In 2019, Norm was promoted to Rescue 7’s Director of Training. Norm was a Paramedic (A.E.M.C.A) with Cote St. Luc EMS (Emergency Medical Services) and is a certified BCLS/AED Master Trainer with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (Quebec), a CSST Instructor (Quebec) and a National Lifesaving Examiner.
Laura joined Rescue 7 in 2020 in the role of Director of Operations. Her role at Rescue 7 is to oversee the Product Division and lead the supporting operational infrastructure requirements for the organization. Before joining Rescue 7, Laura held executive positions with Sun Life Financial and BMO Financial Group. At Sun Life, Laura was the AVP, Global Procurement Services where she is responsible for setting the strategic vision and goals for the Enterprise’s Supplier Risk & Performance Management Strategy, Supplier / Procurement Policies and Standards and the global Procurement & Sourcing infrastructure requirements. At BMO Financial Group, Laura held various leadership roles in the Strategic Sourcing organization most recently the Director, Business Strategy, Enterprise Supplier Governance and Sourcing Infrastructure. Laura has a passion for process efficiencies and obtained her Six Sigma green belt while working for GE Capital and has been able to capitalize on these skills throughout her career. Laura has a degree in Economics from York University.
A graduate from the University of Toronto, Michele joined Rescue 7 Inc. in 2007 as our General Manager. Her current role includes supporting provincial and territorial regulatory mandates, managing the implementation and integration of our course curriculum for our corporate clients. Michele actively teaches Rescue 7 Inc.’s Emergency Response Training Programs. Outside of work, Michele enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and volunteering as a board member of the PA at her daughter’s school.
Leslie joined our team in 2011 with over 10 years’ experience in customer service, project management and office administration. She has completed Human Relations, Ontario Management Development Program through Seneca College.
Tracey comes to Rescue 7 with 12 years’ experience in Executive Administration, and 4.5 years as a licensed real estate salesperson from New York City. While she lived in NYC, she devoted her time to tutoring economically disadvantaged students from elementary level to high school, as part of the “No Child Left Behind Act of 2001”. In addition, she was a member of Corcoran Cares, an in-house non-profit organization that supports several charitable and philanthropic organizations within New York and Florida. Tracey received her B.A. at the City University of New York – Baruch College, where she majored in Corporate Communications. Tracey schedules corporate clients for all training session.
A business graduate from India, Bhumil joined Rescue 7 Inc. in 2015. Bhumil’s background in advertising sales and client servicing provides experience and expertise to his job managing current & acquiring new customers, designing marketing material and providing AED technical support. Outside of the office, Bhumil loves back country campaign, photography and cooking Indian food.
Courtney, our new Account Executive on the Sales team. She has 15 years experience in business-to-business sales and she graduated from Seneca College in Human Resources Management. She’s mom to 2 amazing boys, and she loves to cook, golf, travel and spend time with her family.
David comes to Rescue 7 with over 30 years of Human Resources/Health and Safety experience in various industries. He has managed complex health and safety projects in various industries both nationally as well and internationally, most recently as the Global Director, EHS for a multi national auctioneer organization. David is a CRSP, Canadian Registered Safety Professional as well as a CPHR, Chartered Professional in Human Resources. David is able to develop and implement programs with a view on operational effectiveness and improvement. David has also won awards for his expertise including the Change Agent Award that is awarded annually by Dupont Safety Services/eCompliance as well as the Chairman’s Safety award for best divisional safety improvement during his employment with Magna International.
David is responsible for leading Rescue 7’s WSIB Excellence Program as well as other EHS related business.
Jessica will be taking over for Colleen as of May 1, 2021, while Colleen is on maternity leave. Jessica will be working with our administration team at our head office in Markham, ON. She will be the voice on the phone when you call us, so be sure to say hi!
Colleen joined our team in 2014 with 3 years of customer service experience. Excelling in learning new things, Colleen is very energetic, personable and reliable. Colleen has won various awards for her ongoing passion in sports for example; Hockey, Ball hockey, Baseball, Volleyball, Lacrosse.
