Course Description
The detailed course outline provided here aims to enhance a Standard – Intermediate First Aid training session by incorporating essential skills and concepts such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Tactical Care Rescue, and Emergency Medical Response Training (EMRT). This advanced training equips participants with the knowledge and techniques necessary to effectively address a wide range of pre-hospital traumatic and medical emergencies before professional healthcare teams arrive. The curriculum covers a patient assessment framework, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemorrhage control, and management of various acute medical and traumatic situations. Engaging training methods, including skill demonstrations, interactive discussions, practice sessions, and multimedia presentations featuring real-life scenarios, create a vibrant learning atmosphere. Additionally, the program tackles critical issues related to protection, intervention, and management, focusing on strategies for self and team safety in the face of threats, hazards, and use of force incidents. It also addresses challenges faced by first responders, such as severe bleeding from weapon-related injuries, substance abuse, and the impact of drugs and alcohol, along with conflict resolution, crisis management, and support for individuals in crisis, including those dealing with mental health issues, stress, trauma, and marginalization.
