CSA Intermediate Workplace First Aid Recertification Course
This 1-day recertification course is designed for individuals who currently hold a valid CSA Intermediate (Standard) First Aid certification and wish to renew their credentials before expiry. The program provides 6.5 hours of focused curriculum time, reinforcing essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond confidently to workplace emergencies.
Participants who have maintained a current certification may be eligible to enroll in this refresher course. Recertification must be completed prior to the expiration of the original 3-year certification period. Once the certification has expired, participants are required to complete either the full two-day Standard First Aid/CPR/AED course or the Blended Online Standard First Aid program.
This course reviews and reinforces key first aid competencies, including patient assessment, injury and illness management, and emergency response procedures. CPR and AED training follows the latest ILCOR 2020 Guidelines, ensuring alignment with current best practices in resuscitation.

Important Requirement:
Participants must bring a copy of their current certificate to the training session for verification on the day of the course.
Special Requirement for Ontario Participants (as of June 22, 2026):
Participants holding a current Standard First Aid certification issued under the former WSIB Regulation 1101 are eligible to recertify to the new CSA Intermediate Workplace First Aid standard.
To support a smooth transition to the updated CSA standard, Rescue 7 Inc. strongly recommends enrolling in the Blended eLearning CSA Intermediate Workplace First Aid course. The online component provides the additional knowledge-based content introduced in the new CSA standard, allowing participants to review and complete the required theory before attending the in-person practical session.
Participants who prefer not to complete the blended eLearning option may instead register for the instructor-led recertification course. However, because the CSA standard includes new knowledge competencies, all participants must complete a knowledge competency assessment at the beginning of the course. Participants will have the opportunity to complete this assessment at the start of the session, and if required, may be given a second attempt at the end of the course.
A minimum score of 70% is required to successfully complete the recertification requirements and proceed with the practical skills demonstrations and course completion.
