Weekly Review: April 10th-16th
With only 15 days to go until #McHappyDay2017, the Rescue 7 team needs your help! When a child gets seriously ill, the stress can be devastating. Tough decisions often split families apart when they should be together most. The 15 Ronald McDonald House Charities across Canada are close to hospitals and provide a home-away-from-home for families while their child heals. That’s why the Rescue 7 team started this Gratitude Number fundraiser for RMHC. $656 is the amount of money it costs to run a Ronald McDonald House for 2 days! Please donate and give the gift of togetherness. PLUS—don’t forget to visit CEO John Collie (hairnet and all!) behind the cash at the McDonald’s at 5225 Highway 7 in Markham on May 3rd! $1 from every Big Mac, Happy Meal and McCafe Coffee will go towards supporting families stay close.
Working At Heights (WAH) training requirements came into force on April 1, 2015, requiring that employers must ensure that workers on construction projects successfully complete a working at heights training program approved by the Chief Prevention Officer (CPO) and delivered by a CPO-approved training provider before they can work at heights.
Workers had until April 1, 2017 to complete an approved working at heights training program. However, THE DEADLINE IS BEING EXTENDED TO OCTOBER 1, 2017, lengthening the transition period by six months in specific circumstances.
