Wilderness First Aid Course
To have participants be able to a provide first aid procedures in life-threatening situations in remote and challenging environments. Our Wilderness first aid differs significantly from standard first aid courses and other training that are oriented toward urban environments. This course teaches how to manage medical emergencies when hospitals and rescue services may not be available for an extensive time period. We prepare students for emergency situations that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised equipment.
This 3-4 day course will cover all modules in the Standard First Aid/CPR/AED course plus Lifts, Moves, and Extrications; Thermoregulation; Bites and Stings; Lightning; Improvised Patient Carries and Patient Assessment Drills
