We are pleased to announce that the OPG has awarded a contract to Rescue 7 Inc. for a province-wide AED program, which will standardize AED units throughout the company.
The HeartSine Samaritan 500P AED requires minimal training to operate and is ideal for the lay rescuer. The Samaritan 500P AED with CPR Advisory offers help rescuers provide high-quality manual CPR. This feedback technology features real-time audible and visual feedback to rescuers to help achieve the proper rate and depth of CPR chest compressions.
An important story that follows along the lines of our very own Chase McEachern, Cathal Joyce was saved by a Heartsine AED after collapsing on the soccer pitch. Joyce’s situation is one of thousands, and AEDs are the key to success stories and healthy lives post-cardiac arrest.
“It is believed that Joyce’s heart stopped for several seconds but he was aided by his brother James, the team’s physio, Rosemount player Dr. Patrick Boland and Athlone vice-chairman Gordon Brett.”
