This full day program includes the basic information about how to work at heights safely, as well as practical application of skills. The course involves classroom instruction and hands-on exposure to some common equipment.

The training includes both, but is not limited to:
•Hazard identification
•Rights and responsibilities related to working at height •Ladder safety
•Legislative requirements for worker fall safety
•Fall safety warning methods and barriers
•Types and usage of personal protective equipment for fall protection

Ontario Working at Heights Training Requirements
As of April 1, 2015 you are required to have training through a MOL approved training provider if you work on a construction project and use any of the following methods of fall protection: •Travel restraint systems
•Fall restricting systems
•Fall arrest systems
•Safety nets
•Work belts or safety belts

Transition Period
There is a 2 year transition period for those who have been working at heights prior to April 1, 2015. To be eligible to take advantage of this transition period you need to have received training on working at heights that met the requirements of Section 26.2 of the Construction Regulation 213. If you did, then you have until April 1, 2017 to complete an approved working at heights training program. If you are unsure, contact us and we would be happy to assist: info@rescue7.net

On the 7th of June 2017, the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund donated five Heartsine defibrillators in memory of the five fallen RCMP officers which occurred in Lake Simcoe, June 7th 1958. This was the largest loss of Canadian Police officers in a single incident. The officers, Cpl Herbert Smart, PC Glen Farough, PC Maurice Melnychuk, PC David Perry and PC George Ransom were on marine patrol and were lost at sea. All five officer’s bodies were recovered within the following week.

The defibrillators were donated at OPP General Headquarters in front of the Commissioner of the OPP and was well attended by the RCMP, including the Assistant Commissioner of ‘O’ Division. The RCMP sponsored a defibrillator for the 2824 COPS Army Cadet Corps; the ‘O’ Division Slain Peace Officer’s Memorial Fund donated one for the 32 Military Police Cadets; the Chase McEachern Memorial Fund along with Pilatez Barrie donated to the Busby Centre; the Mounsey Fund donated to the Orillia Museum of Art and History and Rescue 7 donated to the Beaverton (Brock) Library (PC George Ransom). These donations bring the total donations of the DMMF to 78.
